Hello all.
I wish I would never have to be writting this message on this forum (as probably many of you) but here we are.
Bit of background: fellow sufferer of psoriasis my whole life. This was just stable on my chest and back (on & off for times) but never more than that.
Last year (turning 29) and after a huge dramatic event in my life which caused an event of stress, psoriasis appeared on my entire scalp / face & ears - being these last ones the most affected (specially on the back).
Feelings aside of anxiety/ depression & grieving, I want to keep here a journal of my experience in case I can help others.
- Enstillar foam used on the back of my ears & chest: hugely burning feeling, stopped the treatment straight away. Psoriasis on and off on the area for months after that (July 2024 first detected)
- Huge flare up February/ March 2025. After waiting for months for my GP to refer me I get sick & pay for private dermatologist.
Treatment plan as it follows:
- Sebco ointment 3 times a week to soft the plaques (smells nice but not to wear outside of the house) really calmed me down.
- Followed by TGEl shampoo (amazing as well) to wash.
- High steroid cortisone for the back of my ears: lotridem cream, 2 wice a day for a week, then 1xday for another one and alternative days for another one before wearing off (helped a lot but we all know steroids aren't the solution)
- H- Psoriasis formula (oil) natural online for my chest psoriasis, it did improve it but not fully cleared it (alongside with sun it could be clear) - I will keep you posted. (Found this online btw)
- Protopic to start with on my right ear after treatment (reluctant to use still as I tried a bit and it causes a burning feeling - also concerned as per people commenting it can caused TSW alongside with corticoids)
- Dermatologist recommended ciclosporine. Also reluctant because of side effects / people complaining here it's not a long term solution, methotrexate could be better on the long run. Any feedback here is welcome.
- I might be able to start CAP therapy which I believe it can be a long term solution for this, however not available where I live. If I do, I will keep you posted. If someone tried please let me know.
- Phototherapy: luckily my GP is able to put me through this, however I am unsure if it does help on ears, if someone succesfully tried please let me know.
-As per today 10/04 I am using probiotics from Hannah Sillitoe and will start to reintroduce alkaline food on my diet. Aware only little scientific background aval this but worth the try. Been on blueberries/ omega 3 & collagen for a month but didn't improve anything.
Thanks all.
