Would you like to help shape the work of the Psoriasis Association?

Are you passionate about making life better for people with psoriasis? The Psoriasis Association is currently looking to recruit new Trustees and you may have the skills we are looking for!

As a Trustee, you play an integral part in the good governance of the Psoriasis Association. Meaning that alongside your fellow Trustees you help to ensure that the organisation remains viable and sustainable whilst our work adheres closely to the main objectives of the charity.

We are looking for two new trustees with diverse skills and backgrounds which reflect the people we represent. Applicants should have an affinity with our aim of providing support to all those with or affected by psoriasis / psoriatic arthritis (PsA) in the UK,  preferably through their own experience or that of close family or friends. An understanding of working within the NHS or health research would be equally  valuable.  We are interested in recruiting Trustees from all ethnic backgrounds and residing in any part of the UK. Areas of experience and expertise we feel are currently underrepresented on the Board of Trustees are:-

1. Human Resources expertise

2. Background in finance or investments

3. Experience in improving reach into socially deprived, or diverse communities to support our work in tackling health inequalities

4. Experience of living with psoriasis as a young person or experience of family life with a child or young person with psoriasis

5. Health or science expertise in psoriasis

6. Insight into living with psoriasis in skin of colour

What impact will this opportunity have for the Psoriasis Association?

We have excellent and committed existing trustees but with a more diverse board of people with a wider range of backgrounds and skills to support, help and guide the charity and the Senior Management Team, we believe we will be in a stronger position to achieve our objectives.

We can offer training in areas relevant to the role.

What is expected from me?  The Trustee role is voluntary (out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed) and you would be expected to attend three Trustee meetings per year, plus the AGM.
