The Psoriasis Association is pleased to announce that the 2019 call for PhD Studentship and Cecil King Memorial Grant applications is now open.
Information about applying for the PhD Studentship and Cecil King Memorial grants can be found here.
The Psoriasis Association PhD Studentship grant was first
launched in 2007 and we are proud to continue our support of early career
psoriasis researchers in 2019. The Psoriasis Association is pleased to offer
£85,500 over three years for the 2019 PhD Studentship awards. For successful
PhD Studentship applicants, a £1,000 travel grant and a £500 outreach grant will
also be available during the Studentship.
Alongside PhD Studentships, a small grant of up to
£10,000 is available through the Psoriasis Association from the Cecil King
Memorial Foundation. This grant is available for projects where the lead
researcher is under 35 years of age, or within the first five consecutive
years, at the time of application, of either their first permanent independent
academic research post or a named limited-tenured/fixed-term academic research
post, obtained in open competition (note that tenure must cover the duration of
the award) based in the UK or Ireland.
The Psoriasis Association will
consider applications that have clear relevance to its aim ‘to promote
and fund research into the causes, nature and care of psoriasis and to publish
and disseminate the results of that research’ and contain a rigorous research focus. Applications
that also address one of the ‘Psoriasis Top 10’ research priorities will be looked on favourably and,
providing the applications are of high scientific quality and good value for
money, we expect to fund at least one PhD Studentship that meets this criteria.
The 2019 grant application process
opened on Monday 2nd September, and will close on Friday 6th December 2019.
