had carpal tunnel surgery nearly 3 weeks ago. Stitch came out and wound opened at top. I saw the nurse and explained I was worried, got no help from her. But the thing I worried about has happened, plaques forming on the wound and dry skin around the area. I cant see my doctor for another 4 days. Can any one give advice on how I can help myself till then. It is sore and itch driving my crazy. Please help

have had p for too many years

Calamine lotion from chemist or Tesco for itching. I use coconut oil for dry skin. I feel for you and I do hope this helps. The coconut oil seems to have taken the redness out of my pso.

Irascible septuagenarian fed up with the psoriasis constantly at me

Hopefully, your doc will prescribe a tube of mild steroid cream with an antimicrobial ingredient bound up in the mixture. That will halt the scaly plaques and clear up anything lurking in the wound.

Hope so, its looking horrible at the moment as its getting worse. Fingers are starting to stiffen up, don't know if this is due to surgery or the psoriasis
