Psoriasis Awareness Week 2025
It's Psoriasis Awareness Week 2025 which will run from Wednesday 29th October - Tuesday 4th November.
This year our theme is Comorbidities of Psoriasis.

What does this mean?
Comorbidities are the presence of one or more additional diseases or disorders that occur in someone, alongside already living with psoriasis. In a nutshell, it relates to conditions that you are more likely to have due to psoriasis.
This includes conditions such as Psoriatic Arthritis, Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes and of course, the mental health impact that living with psoriasis may have, such as low self esteem, feelings of isolation and loneliness and anxiety and depression.
We're looking for people to share their stories about their experience of living with psoriasis and other related conditions, either in written form or as a video so that we can share them throughout the week.
Get in touch with us on mail@psoriasis-association.org.uk to share your story.
You can also see more of our plans throughout the week on this webpage as we update it.

World Psoriasis Day will take place on Wednesday 29th October and we’re encouraging you to put on some purple to show your support.
We’d love to see your pics of your wearing our favourite colour, so feel free to tag us or send the pictures into us at mail@psoriasis-association.org.uk . Don’t forget to use the hashtag #OhSoPurple on social media so we can see them all.
Why not get your friends, family and co-workers involved and raise awareness together?
Birmingham Information Stand
We're heading to Birmingham on Wednesday 29th October, World Psoriasis Day.
We'll be at ASDA on 859 Coventry Rd, Small Heath, Birmingham B10 0HH between 9am -4pm.

Live Q&A with a Rheumatologist

We're hosting an Instagram Live (@psoriasisuk) on Monday 3rd November at 6.30pm putting your questions to Rheumatologist, Professor Laura Coates from the HPOS Study (@hpos_study).
Join us on Instagram to have your questions answered.
Virtual Coffee Morning
Following on from the success of our Coffee Morning last year, we will be hosting a virtual coffee morning via zoom on Friday 31st October at 11am.
This will be a relaxed, informal chance for anyone to be able to hop on the call and connect and chat to others who are also living with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.
Grab a drink and some snacks and join us. Register for the zoom call here:
Join our Webinar with St John's DermAcademy

There will also be an opportunity to put your questions to our experts at the end.

Find out more about the speakers:
Dr Satveer Mahil is a Consultant Dermatologist at St John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London and adjunct Senior Lecturer at King's College London. She has a clinical and research interest in inflammatory skin diseases - in particular, psoriasis. She is also Director of St John's DermAcademy, which organises dermatology educational events and resources for healthcare professionals.
Prof. Michael Simpson is the Professor of Genetics and Head of the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at King's College London. Michael's research is strongly focused on the development and application of computational and statistical methods for the analysis of large-scale genomics datasets to understand causal genetic mechanisms.
He is specifically interest in understanding the genetic basis of human diseases, including both rare and common complex disease.
His research team uses computational approaches to identify molecular and cellular mechanisms through which genetic variation influences the susceptibility to skin disease and the response to treatment.
Michael trained as a pharmacologist and subsequently studied Human Molecular Genetics at Imperial College before undertaking his PhD at St George's University of London. In 2009 he moved to King's College London where his research capitalised on advances in DNA sequencing technologies to identify the genetic basis of a series of rare diseases that had proved intractable to traditional gene mapping approaches. In 2014 Michael joined Genomics plc, a spin out company from the University of Oxford, where he held a series of leadership roles. He returned full-time to King's in 2021 and was appointed as the Head of the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics in 2023. Michael is also actively involved in the translation of genomic approaches in healthcare systems and is currently the SRO for Research and Innovation for the NHS South East Genomic Medicine Service Alliance.
Abhiti Gulati is the Lead Integrated Pharmacist for Diabetes and Obesity for south east London integrated care board where she works in the medicines optimisation team and leads on the introduction of new medications and development of consistent diabetes and obesity prescribing guidance and pathways across the south east London integrated care system.
She has a clinical role at Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospital and has worked in the diabetes department for over 10 years. She has a keen interest in obesity medicine and is a key member of the multidisciplinary team in the Tier 4 medical obesity clinic prescribing GLP-1 medicines for weight management to those with complex obesity.
