Acitretin

I have just registered and this is my first post. I have severe scalp psoriasis; the dermatologists (who I saw this week) has suggested I try acitretin; I have another appointment with him in three weeks when I decide if I should or not.... on reading about all the horrendous side effects I am struggling to find any positives. Has anyone been on this and is there anyone who would recomend I try this? Thank you

General considerations regarding side-effects (not only with psoriasis):
- not everyone gets all of the possible side-effects or to the same severity;
- for some, the side-effects are less troublesome or less debilitating than the condition itself that is being treated;
- if the side-effects are too much to bear, people can simply stop the treatment.
