Dovobet side effect

Hey so I'll start by stating that I'm just 19 and among constant use of dovobet (probably a 30g tube in less than 2 weeks) I also noticed irregular hair loss, I've done some digging and aside from reading the long list of side effects it has that includes hair loss I do understand now how dangerous and bad its to use it on a regular basis as ive been using it for months now non stop as it seems to be the only thing that helps me. So I was just wanted to ask if any one experienced and sudden hair lose around the time of exaggerated dovobet usage? Also does anyone know if using Xamiol gel in the long term; harmful? Sorry if this is the wrong place im very insecure about this topic and my own psoriasis.. I also suffer eye psoriasis and if anyone has suggestions or helpful ideas ill be more than happy to hear!

A P sufferer for over 30 years, through good and bad times.

I have used dovobet in varying quantities for the past 25 years or so and also had hair loss but cannot say for sure it is down to dovobet. During the same time I have also taken numerous oral meds that also have hair loss as a side effect. One thing for sure as you know, dovobet is a very strong steroid ointment and I know it has significantly thinned my skin during that time. Follow the Dr's advice about prolonged use.

Good luck Danny, hope your hair grows back. For me dovobet has been one of the most successful ointments I have used but again should be used carefully.

I used dovabet about 8 years ago and I believe it caused a massive flare up .! Since then I have refused any steroid based medication . I was using a sun bed once a week but my dermatologist asked me not to for 3 months to see what happened? I have done this but as we all know the world has changed and my psoriasis is not good the areas it affects have gone larger and I find it “hurts” .i have a telephone consultation on Thursday ,just wondered how is every one else doing ?x

Hi Danny I have been using local steroids for 4 years now (dovobet for 3 years). I agree it's one of the most effective treatments. It has local side effects such as thinning of skin and hair loss. I am afraid to tell you that you're using quite a lot of it which may lead to systemic side effects as well. The good news is you can do something about it! Ever since I started changing my diet and lifestyle, the amount I needed to use has dropped significantly, could not go completely go off the treatment though. Here is what I think are most effective ways Diet: (it's tough!) 1- stop anything contains sugar. It's the worst thing for psoriasis. 2- eat as much raw fruits and green vegetables as you can 3- avoid dairy products 4- avoid anything grilled or fried 5- stop smoking Lifestyle 1- sleep at least 8 hours a day (very helpful) 2- avoid stress as much as possible 3- get sun light 20 mints a day when possible 4- regular exercise By doing most of these my symptoms improved up to 75%. But it's tough I know! However, it's not all or non law! So even if you cannot stick to all of these, just do as much as you can, and the difference that it will make to your psoriasis will be great. It does worth it! BW

Hey Asem, I can say with confident that I used to be chubby (100kg) and used to smoke about a pack a day and all of that was 10 months ago. nowadays I weigh 72kg and dont smoke or eat dairy products, I do my best to self care and me being self caring was using the dovobet, I hope my hair will improve and so my psoriasis; nowadays its just in the elbows pretty much! Im just looking to hear people who also suffered from side effects :/

Hi Im new, Im not really very good at this so I will just tell you about myself, about 20 years ago I moved to North Wales, and since that time I have suffered from many ailments at first I simply put it down to age, But now I bigin to wonder, within the first year, I lost most of my teeth, in the next year I was told I had severe heart problems , and each year since then I have spent an average of two to three weeks in hospital, I now take around 20 tablets a day for various ailments, and have recently been told I have diabetes 2, about a year ago I was told that I had psoriasis and was given Dovabet which had little or no effect at all, then this was changed and the next stuff made my skin go red and sting like hell, Im now on even more powerful stuff, which I started today, I would say that my body is around 50 percent covered in psoriasis, it is very painful and makes sleeping almost impossible, I am waiting for an appointment with a specialist, but with the lates pandemic this has been delayed possibly until next year....In all honesty Im not sure wether I should just go out and catch this latest bug and die, which given my many conditions would be my best option, but have decided instead to come on here and ask if any of you have found something that actually might make my life a little bettter, am I eating the wrong stuff, are the pills I take causing this, Up until I moved up here I had worked 50 years anmd only had 1 and a half days sickness, and thats the truth, so as you can see I was pretty fit.... any suggestions would be gratefully recieved .
