Psoriasis platus

I have been diagnosed with psoriasis platus and I have awful scaly skin on both feet and particularly on my right heel. I have tried 2 different steroid ointments and DerThanksmol 500 lotion as a soap substitute but the condition appears to have become worse. My GP is referring me to a consultant dermatologist but I believe that the waiting time is approx. 44 weeks in the area where I live. Has anyone any suggestions as to what I could do to self help please? Thanks Judy nee.
