Hi I’m new here. I am a 27 year old mum of one and due to be getting married in May so only 4 and abit months time 🙈 my psoriasis started in the last year and went from just being on my scalp to pretty much covering my entire body. I can’t believe how quickly it’s spread and it’s had a huge knock on affect to my mental health. I have tried steroids but found when I stop using them the skin gets sooo sore and dry and also comes back 10 times worse! My dr has finally referred me to my local hospital who has a psoriasis specialist but I’m waiting on a date and can’t imagine it’ll come anytime soon as in the grand scheme of things it’s not really seen as important which is completely understandable! I was hoping to try light therapy has anyone tried this and did it work for you? I’m praying I get it slightly under control before the wedding 😞

Hi, I have had light therapy 3 times now and find this is the best way for me to clear up the psoriasis. The only downside is the timescale obviously it’s not instant and you attend the hospital 2-3 times a week for around 8/10 weeks . I know this isn’t brilliant but trust me it is so worth it and makes you feel confident and human again. Good luck getting an appointment soon and hope wedding goes well for you

I had severe psoriasis all over my body like you and the best way the doctor said to clear it was to have light therapy. I had to go three times a week and had a total of 23 session for it all to clear up, this was alongside the other products that was helping the healing process, such as capasal shampoo. For me light therapy was amazing as it was only for a couple minutes each session so it doesn’t take up much time and is good as long as you can keep regular appointments. Since I’ve finished the light therapy it has appeared very very lightly on my face and ears again but I was told I’m genetically prone and that no treatment is guaranteed to get rid of it forever. Try moisturise very regularly which hopefully should help it fade by your wedding, good luck
