Balance issues.

Hi, I'm new to this. I have had chronic psoriasis for 10 yrs, including nail and scalp. I am 70 yrs old and find climbing a step ladder (e.g. to change a light bulb) beyond me. Is there any known association between psoriasis and balance issues? My ears are often very itchy and I wonder if dead skin cells could be building up in my inner ears, thus causing the balance problem?

While I've never heard of a direct psoriasis-to-balance correlation, I have read that psoriasis skin buildup in the ear canal can cause hearing loss. Also, an ear impacted by earwax has been known to cause balance issues, so you might be on the money. Definitely see a doctor for newly onset balance issues, and have them look into your ear. I read that they can prescribe drops and sometimes carefully scrape out the ear, like they do with impacted ear wax.
