Handheld phototherapy lamp

Hey guys! So after months of steroid creams and moisturisers that don’t work, my doctor has referred me to a dermatologist which I’m super pleased about but has said the wait could be anything between 6-12 months. Usually I wouldn’t mind a wait, but it’s spreading fast, doubling every three months or so! I work as a tattooist, working with people’s skin. Although I try to cover it I can often tell when customers see it it makes them abit uneasy ☹️ I’ve just bought a uv Derma handheld phototherapy lamp, does any one have any experience with these? I’m not hoping for a miracle but even if it can just slow down the spreading until I can see a dermatologist that would be enough! Does any one have any advice with these? Thanks!

I have never used a lamp so I cannot give specific advice from experience. BUT what I can advise - start small (short times for exposure). Do not over-expose yourself, perhaps thinking to try to get quicker results. Although sunlight helps many people's symptoms, sunburn can be a trigger for worse or increased psoriasis. So do avoid burning your skin.
