I am going to be prescribed acitretin. Is this any good? I have information upon possible side effects but would appreciate any feedback.

A P sufferer for over 30 years, through good and bad times.

Like any drug, it is only good if it works for you. I was never fully clear whilst taking it but kept my P stable for a number of years. Possible side effects, yes many unfortunately. Good luck

It didn’t work very well for me, but I know it does for some people. I then moved onto cyclosporine which was great for 6 months until it started affecting my kidneys. After that I was eligible for biologics which have been an absolute life changer. Good luck with it and I hope it works for you, the major benefit against the other systemic treatments is that it isn’t immunosuppressive at all. And if it doesn’t, remember there are lots of other treatments and new ones coming onto the market, so you’ll find the right one for you eventually.
