Bruising

Hi. I’ve had moderate to severe Psoriasis for over 50 years. I take Otezla medication and use steroid creams to keep it manageable, which works fine for me. I’m now 64 years old and over the past 6 months I’ve started to get large, dark red bruises on my forearms, seemingly from the slightest of knocks. These bruises take about 3 weeks to disappear (by which time they have usually been replaced by others). My skin also seems to cut very easily and takes ages to heal. Is this likely to be due to my Psoriasis or my treatment? I live in France and it is two months before I can get a GP appointment and 4 months to get an appointment with my dermatologist. I was just wondering whether this bruising is common to this condition. Many thanks

Hi. Skin thinning can be related to psoriasis, steroid creams, or Otezla. Get a doc's opinion to rule out underlying conditions. Take care of your skin in the meantime!
