Hi all
I've never posted before but maybe hoping to get some inspiration or hope for my Guttate psoriasis.
I've had psoriasis since I was 7 I have had every steroid available, I have been hospitalised had massive steroid withdrawals causing terrible red sore skin had light therapy you name it. Not had any oral or injections such as methotrexate etc as really unsure as think they just mask the problem rather than help it and scary going on immune suppressant.
For the last 20 years I've been lucky and have managed to keep my psoriasis relatively under control but about 10 weeks ago had a bad infection and my Guttate psoriasis went to town all over my body covering about 90%..
I was hoping to clear it with diet and have cut out dairy, sugar, wheat etc went gluten free and had a food intolance test done just to make sure. Im doing dead sea salt baths every 2nd day and taking vitamins such as strong vit D, selenium, magnesium, Hannah sillitoe pro biotic.
I've honestly not seen much improvement in my skin still find if sore rough scaly and very red.
I will be honest I am quite an impatient person so do expect results ASAP but just wondering if anyone can advise I know everyone is different and no one has a crystal ball to say if or when it will clear but any advice would be great. Xxx
1Posted Sun 29 Sep 2024 17.17 by Yogacherry - from Hastings, East Sussex Hello, I was diagnosed with guttate psoriasis October 2023, after symptoms began in May 2023. II am 60 and have just finished an MA.
I’ve had guttate psoriasis for about 18 months. It came out of the blue and I have no idea what the trigger is. It travels randomly round my body and I usually have most of it lower legs but arms and bits pop up on my face. I had half of my sessions of phototherapy but it was stopped due to having to have 2 moles/basal cells removed. Honestly I am just using epaderm at the moment becauseI know the steroids will be temporary. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help or give some advice that may alleviate what you’re going through. I hope you get some other support on here.
@ Kaza2430 - you've done an amazing job for the last 20 years - way to go you!! Have a read of the articles I included in the post under Psoriasis Experiences - Stress & Diet - they might give you some additional food for thought you haven't already considered?! I have to say I tried Hannah Sillitoe as well as her low alkaline food ways and it did nothing for me either. Every time I've ever stopped the steroids, even after a couple of occasions use, the flares are friggin horrendous!! When I found the 2 products that worked for me, honestly I saw positive results within 2 weeks, so now I know never to wait between 3-6 months as you're usually advised to do! Here's to finding something to help you - stay strong!! xx

Is it worth going to A&E with severe pain of psoriasis?
