Hello everyone,
I have always had some psoriasis in the genital area, and after taking oral corticosteroids for 3 weeks due to an ear infection, it has drastically worsened... I can’t engage in sexual activity, and it has affected the entire shaft of the penis, making the top completely red. I had three consultations, and all of them prescribed steroids... One dermatologist prescribed betamethasone, another mometasone, and finally clobetasol.
I should use betamethasone twice a day for 2 weeks and once a day for another 2 weeks... Mometasone should be applied once a day for 10 days, every other day for 2 weeks, and then twice a week for another 3 months. Clobetasol should be used once every 3 days for 1 month. I haven’t started any of these treatments because I am afraid of skin thinning and permanent damage to both my skin and my sexual life. I don’t understand why they didn’t prescribe Protopic, which seems to be safer for areas like the genital region.
I don’t know what to do and am currently feeling depressed about this situation. I would like to start one of the treatments suggested by the dermatologists, but the treatment periods seem too prolonged with steroids that are too strong...

Honestly, I’ve had this too and it entirely destroys the confidence so I sympathise. In my case, I have psoriasis in many areas and already had great success with enstilar so yes, going against the advisal of the instructions I applied it down there and it did clear it up nicely and has not come back since. I know it’s not of the most help and I wish you the best of luck mate.

I would echo the comment by mystical about enstilar foam. I went online to buy a steroid recommended on this site saying I already had enstilar and the online pharmacist came back with the comment - use Enstilar as it is a milder steroid.

I have the exact same issue, but for my scrotum, inner thighs and folds as well as my armpits, buttocks, 'crevice'.
I feels horrible, everything cracks or split when I move and trying to sleep is horrible. I took have tried Enstillar which work very well for a while, but then the effectiveness wore off after about 3 months. I have/am also using Doublebase, E45, eumovate, all of which have shortly term effect, before wearing of and needing to switch to another alternative. Now I have hundreds of additional outbreaks all over my body and it is clear that topical treatments are not working...I need a different approach when I next see my Dr, but I am worries I will just be fobbed off with more creams and even applying the creams I have causes significant pain and discomfort due to the cracked skin.
I am just desperate for some relief from this
