Aveeno has been my moisturiser for about 20 years. Unfortunately I have become sensitized to it and it makes my skin worse than if i don't use it. It seems they have changed the formula awhile back. Fortunately I have some old Aveeno with the original formula and it still works and doesn't cause any problems. However I will soon run out of my old stock. Reading the trustpilot reviews for the new formula are nearly all 1 stars so it seems I am not alone in my experience. Was wondering if anyone in the same boat as me could suggest an alternative moisturizer. I have managed to track the offending ingredient, its the only one they have changed, its BHT (Butylated hydroxytoluene).

Hi Leejacks - that is frustrating when they change good products - for the worse!
I like Oatderma Child’s Farm body moisturiser. It’s not the mega thickest, but I don’t get any bad reaction, it absorbs well, isn’t sticky or marking on clothes/bed sheets, not too pricey and it seems to help. I find it a bit similar to Aveeno.
I have signed up for the Parent and Baby Club at Boots online to get discounts on it - even though my kids are older now, it still worked! Else there are regular discounts that pop up.
I remember Cetraben being pretty good, too…

Hi bargainlovingmum,
I used to childs farm in 2018 but caused a reaction first use. I used aqueous cream for a couple of years then got sensitized to it so switched to aveeno which I have used without a problem for about 20 years until recently.
I have started to use double base the one for psoriasis and also an emollient

Have you tried XBC cream? I buy it from Savers, it’s only £1.00 for a 500 ml tub. I’ve tried many different cream and find this works quite well for me.

Which variant of XBC cream? There are (at least) 7 different variants on sale, from aqueous to vitamin E to menthol, etc.
