Guttate psoriasis not going!

Seems maybe misdiagnosis on type? They claim guttate doesn't have scales like plaque does? and like you said almost temporary caused by an infection? I have plaque psoriasis which I've had since the age of 15 and I'm at 38 years later, it's not goin anywhere.

I completely agree, it’s confusing because i have the small red dots, which only get scaley when i scratch them, but i havent had any larger patches like plaque. Just very strange that theyre still here after so many years! Hope you’re managing yours okay! :)

Over the years I have had both types at different times. The treatment is the same for each. But when I had guttate I did not use steroid as it would have been too laborious to apply it to each small red spot, and I did not want to smother my entire trunk in a steroid covering good skin as well as the psoriasis. My Guttate psoriasis appeared a few weeks after a total hip replacement, most likely caused by the physical trauma on the body. My GP predicted it would fade after around 6 months. It did indeed begin to fade after 6 months, and was completely gone by 9 months.

I have had guttate since 15 I am now in my 50s . I have had steroid treatment... sun bed treatment all have a good improvement for 2-3 week then returns even if I carry on using it. I have taken prescribed Methotrexate which calmed it but had to stop as giving problems with bladder wall. I also took another drug prescribed which caused my skin to peel like I had sun burn. My feet and hands bright red. Generally when I meet someone who has psoriasis they mostly do not have it on their face. I wish some research was concentrated on this why is the skin on our face not being affected.
