Hi, been suffering with this on my scalp for year and a half now. Getting to the point where i cant even go out in public with my hair in a pony tail as you can see the psoriasis all underneath. Its spreading to the top of my forehead and is also in my ears. Went to doctors, what they prescribed me was rubbish. Any REALLY good shampoos anyone has used? Starting to get me down :(

Diagnosed PSA January 2018

The only thing that has worked for my scalp psoriasis is Aveda Scalp Benefits shampoo and conditioner. It’s pricey but so worth it. Plus is really good on the hair too

Hi there The only successful treatment for me over 50 hrs of suffering scalp psoriasis on and off has always been Sulphur and salasilic ointment overnight... .. Comb out the loose flakes after 12 hrs... Wash with polytar or alphosyl shampoo Make this a daily routine for 2 or 3 weeks gets it under control for sure Now Im clear I use alphosyl 2 or 3 times a week and it keeps it at bay Hope this helps

Forget everything else and use NEUTROGENA® T/GEL® Therapeutic Shampoo. Keep using it! It will gradually but effectively clear your scalp. My son's scalp was completely covered in thick scale and it was very itchy. We tried many products, prescription and OTC. This is the only one we have found to be effective. We used the Extra Strength product until it was under control and now use regular strength. His hair appears healthy and shiny. There is no discomfort, it does have a mild odor, if that bothers you, you can shampoo at night and by morning it is not noticeable. You can also follow with a bit of conditioner to cover the scent.

I suffered from scalp psoriasis for years - used steroid treatment, coaltar solutions, different shampoos and nothing had any lasting effect. I then worked for a beauty retailer who sold Philip B anti flake shampoo - gave it a try and it completely cleared it up. Total miracle. It is expensive but i have a bottle that has lasted me over 6 months as it cleared it up after a couple of weeks of every other day usage. I then only ever need to use it when it starts flaring up again which is very very rare. I don't know whats in it that's different to T/gel or other tar based shampoos but it was the only one that worked for me.

Like said above, visit a doctor instead of buying a wallmart crap. Only after that you may look for proper shampoo, like I did after reading this blog - https://mystraightener.com/best-natural-shampoo/

Few months ago I had a very itchy, Scaly scalp and I was picking lumps of Dandruff from my scalp, While I was picking the bits of it started to get Very Oily and sore, I looked on the web for ideas on how to get rid of it and saw one idea of using Vics vapour rub on it..So I bought a jar costing nearly £3.00 and Rubbed it into my scalp and left it on All day and I covered it with a large freezer bag leaving Air in the bag so it didn't rest on my hair..That night I tried to wash it out using Clinical Head and shoulders :( I had to wash my hair 6/7 times and also ended up using Fairy washing up liquid..The Vapour rub didn't work one bit so I've been using the H&S clinical for months now and It has helped a lot..But then I was thinking last week..I once used tea (No milk or sugar lol) on my Grand daughters conjunctivitis/gooey eyes and it cleared that up (old wives remedy) So I thought if it worked on that..it may work on my scalp..So I got 4 tea bags (Very Strong brew) and placed them in a beaker and poured boiling water on them, Gave them a Good stir/squash and left them to brew/cool enough to use on my head ..I then used one of the tea bags to apply the cool tea all over my scalp and after my head was covered I left it to dry and kept it on all day then washed it that night using the H&S clinical shampoo again..After the First time I did this I could Not believe the difference it had made to my scalp..I was GobSmacked!! No More thick scaly lumps! No more Oily Sebaceous fluid seeping out etc, So Please try this before you spend a small fortune on over the counter medication..There are So many things in Tea that have the power to cure ailments of all kinds that some won't tell you about, But please do give it a go and DEFO don't use Vapour run It doesn't work!!...Hope this helps

I used to have psoriasis covering my head, probably two thirds of my scalp was completely covered. It was where it started, I had it there for years before it appeared anywhere else. I tried all sorts but in the end what cleared it (tenporarily) was a trip to the dermatologist who applied Hydramol to my head all over, then sent me home for 6 hours with a plastic wrap over my head. When I returned she carefully combed out the thick scale which left my head completely clear. It gave me relief from the tightness and itching for about 2 months then it simply came back. What permanently cleared my head is a method much easier for a man to try then a woman, but it was to completely shave my head and then go in the sun, whilst moisturising. After a month in Spain it was clear and never came back (now 4 years on). Got it everywhere else though.

Hi! I've had P for almost a year now and now i have a problem. After washing my hair and blow drying it, it's all greasy that i cant finish drying it! Also, it looks like I haven't washed my hair for a week! I feel so insecure, What should I do? If you have this problem and a solution please contact me.

I am wanting to try the ginger shampoo now but I find that every other shampoo I have used has sulfates and just makes my scalp worse. Tar, salicylic acid, tea tree, mint - they all seem to make it more itchy. 😔 I am glad it is winter now, at least I have an excuse to wear hats.

I have tried the BodyShop ginger shampoo, and although it seemed pleasant, for me it did nothing to help my psoriasis or reduce the itching. The two best shampoos I found are Alphacade PSO (bought online) and Alphosyl (widely available off the shelf).. I bought Aphacade from France, from Amazon and now I buy it from here for a reasonable price: https://www.cocooncenter.co.uk/item-alphacade-shampoo-pso-scaly-skin-200ml/14313.html

Hi I have been suffering with scalp psoriasis for years, I have only just had the courage to seek advice from my gp. I have it all over my scalp and it’s painful, bleeds and itch’s like mad. I have stopped going out anywhere due to my bad hair. Well the doctor has prescribed Dovobet gel. Told to apply it daily and wash out every three days. 😬 First 3 days looking like you can fry chips on my head... it’s so greasy. Plus I’m itching really bad all over my scalp which keeps me awake. Does this sound okay to you? I mean washing it off every three days and the itching? Not sure if the itching is normal? Isn’t this going to fix the problem??? And I’m using it for 8 weeks 😦 Please send me some advice on this. Xxxx

Any help on these instructions? Koula

I carried on using the strong brew of Tea soaking the whole area of my scalp but now I also use Modrasone applied to and massaged in to the affected areas, then I cover it with a freezer bag for the rest of the day until I go for a shower in the evening, Before I shower I get a few pieces of kitchen towel and also a Dust/Nit comb and carefully/gently comb the whole area of my scalp wiping of the comb after each combing, I was Very surprised and happy to see large and small pieces of the crusty stuff coming away each time :) My Scalp is Almost clear now and its only the third time I've done this with the Modrasone cream, Nit comb etc, I only have one pimple size area left now but before it was nearly all the left side and most of the top of my head ....Hope this helps some one, ;)
