Psoriasis on hand..

I suffer from mild psoriasis on my arms and legs mainly but starting from 2 weeks ago I've had 3 small spots appear on my right hand. Wasn't too concerned as spots like these that are elsewhere on my body disappear completely and are largely kept away with the use of steroid cream, namely Enstilar. But oh no. Not these. Enstilar doesn't seem to be as effective on them as everywhere else. Sometimes after applying Enstilar the night before I'll wake up and the patches will have faded (though never completely) and yet the next day, after having applied Enstilar again the night before, they'll be redder and more noticeable. It's very frustrating and confusing. These spotsb aren't big, aren't thick and have no scaling. I don't understand why Enstilar isn't working very well!! Has anyone else experienced hand psoriasis being more stubborn than other areas? It's annoying because obviously hands are on show all the time!!

Irascible septuagenarian fed up with the psoriasis constantly at me

Have those 'spots' been diagnosed as P? If not, rather than jump to conclusions that could be wrong, it would be better to seek a skin specialist's opinion. Once diagnosed, a proper course of treatment could be prescribed. Also you didn't state your age ..old age brings with it some skin conditions that do not appear in the younger adult and therefore require differing types of treatment. I had some spots on my forehead that seemed rather odd and they turned out to be actinic keratosis which were eventually removed by the frequent application of cider vinegar.

I have severe psoriasis and began using Enstilar a few months ago for plaques on my back, thighs etc which has worked wonderfully. For the first time in years the psoriasis all but disappeared, except on my hands which worsened, became red, cracked and painful. The more Enstilar I used the worse it became. What it turned out to be was not psoriasis but an allergy and contact dermatitis caused by the Enstilar. I now wear gloves when applying Enstilar to other parts of my body.
