Autumn-Winter 2025/26 Flu and COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign

Plans for the upcoming Autumn-Winter 2025/26 flu and COVID-19 vaccination campaign are now in place.

Getting the winter flu vaccine and/or COVID-19 vaccine or booster, is important because it can help prevent serious illness, hospitalisation, and keep you well protected during the winter.

When Does the Campaign Start?

For pregnant women and children, the flu vaccination programme will begin on 1st September 2025. The main flu and COVID-19 vaccination campaign for the general public will begin on 1st October 2025.

When Can I Book?

You can book appointments through the National Booking Service (NBS).

Vaccination sites will be able to post available flu and COVID-19 appointments starting 18th August 2025, with bookings open to the public from 1st September 2025. The last date for appointments is 1st October 2025.

Who Is Eligible?

The following are eligible for an NHS COVID-19 vaccine in AW 2025/26:

  • Residents in a care home for older adults
  • All adults aged 75 years and over
  • Persons aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed, as defined in tables 3 and 4 of the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book.

From 1st September 2025 pregnant women and children will be eligible for a flu vaccine. On 1st October 2025 the main flu and COVID-19 vaccination campaign for the general public will begin.

What If I Am Immunosuppressed?

If you are immunosuppressed, you may also be eligible for the vaccine, especially if you're on long-term immunosuppressive treatments, systemics or biologics. People with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis (PsA) may fall into this group, depending on their treatment.

How to Book

If it has been at least 6 months since your last dose, you will be eligible for the autumn COVID-19 vaccination. NHS England will be sharing details on how eligible individuals can book their appointments.
