Enstilar FOAM

Posted Fri 12 Feb 2021 19.46 by Kt

Hi, I’ used enstilar foam for my scalp psoriasis for about a year and it does work however it would come back within 2-3 days later- (quick tip for washing it out is to smother your hair in coconut oil just before you wash the foam out then shampoo twice with t gel shampoo or sylic acid shampoo and honestly it makes the foam come out a lot easier!) I’ve stopped using the foam now as I’m scared it’s just going to make it so much worse in the long run. During lockdown I’ve just been putting coconut or organic virgin olive oil all over my scalp sleeping in it then washing it out with t gel shampoo the next day - the results aren’t as good as using the foam but they last around the same time (2-3 days) and I feel better using something I know won’t make it worse in the long run. Hope this is helpful to someone!

Ref. "Enstilar Foam" why are posters saying you should only use for a few days, then have a break & not use for more than 4 weeks?

,,@ old girl https://www.medicinenet.com/enstilar_calcipotriene_betamethasone_dipropionate/article.htm It also makes the skin very thin and the slightest tap will cause a bruise or a rip.

My daughter has started using the goat milk shampoo bars and so far her scalp is clear. She still gets redness across her hairline but no thick scales. We’ve used enstilar and yes it worked but would come back quickly. Would defo recommend buying the goats milk bars. They worked for her and she’s been clear since Christmas. We also bought the goats milk lotion for her body but it hasn’t been so successful.

Hi Everyone As a fellow sufferer with most of my body covered I also use the Enstilar Foam and it is the only medication that seems to bring some relief (tried everything) I am lucky as I am permitted one can per month on NHS. Even so I do not use is consistently or days on end but more sparingly maybe a couple of times a week as the can doesn't last long. The only two magic options for me are UV light treatment which I have to fight for each year as I can't have immune suppressants and the Turkish sun when it clears up in a week.

Work on your psoriasis from the inside out. People get flare ups in winter because of the lack of sunlight. Get a blood test to see if youre vitamin d deficient. I'm not hating on creams or foams or anything, but I think its masking the problem. I cleared my severe psoriasis with vitamin D3, 10,000 iu

I have had a bad flare up of psoriasis this winter and my Dermatologist prescribed Enstilar which l have found very good.l am wondering weather to buy a Light treatment lamp so when l get a little flare up l can treat it at home, what experience have people had with these.

For those who have had light treatment before, you will know the exposure doses are very careful regulated. Apparently there is a maximum on how many you can receive in a life time. I have to argue for repeat treatments as I need it now and not second guess how long I may live for. I have read that many people take the light treatment into their own hands with reported success. The good news is I believe there is no VAT on the equipment. I have also looked into this and can offer the following supply company. You can buy from hand held to the size of the hospital ones. Please note as of yet I have not purchased any lamps. https://treatpsoriasistl01uvblamps.co.uk/contact-us/ MBS (Much Better Skin) I hope this helps you in your decision I did try the vitamin D pill route without any success for me.

Psoriasis 40 years, most treatments tried over this time, currently on biologics (stelara) as nothing else work.

I believe I had around 40 PUVA sessions and I reached my limit. That was about 20 years ago! Be careful when self treating with light therapy people, cannot stress enough the risks of over exposure over weeks, months or years.

Been using Enstilar now for 3 weeks. My Back is now clear but legs still very bad. Any advise? Stop for a few days & then re start?

Diagnosed with Psoriasis in 2011. Diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis in 2018.

I'm in Methotrexate, but I find using Enstillar once a week, alongside a once weekly bath with Hydromol, is the only topical treatments that work and are effective for me. The only issue with them is they stain everything they touch.

As I inferred, I've stopped Enstllar after 3 weeks & do not know whether to restart. It's cleared my back & a certain amount from the legs, but they are far from good. But also noted a number of warts have come up on my body. Is this due to the Steroids?

Just received my first bottles of Enstilar today to use. Been using Dovobet for a few years now on and off and its always worked. Had a major flare up a few weeks ago and used the Dovobet as usual but it came back straight away after 1 week of use. The specialist recommended Enstilar today and i picked up the prescription earlier so looking forward to trying it. if not its back to a course of UVB treatment. last had that in 2005 and it worked for about 10 years
