Has anyone experienced hair loss whilst taking Acetretin. Also my nails are splitting vertically.

Yes, hair loss and curly hair are coon side effects of acitretin. I wouldn't rule out the problem of your nails being caused by acitretin also. Amongst many other horrible side effects.

Yes, my nails got worse after taking it. I finally stopped & starting using topical CBD oil and my nails have improved.

4 months in my hair is hideous dry brittle falling out Nothing helps can’t even tie it up as the broken off bit stick out everywhere 😩

I’ve made the decision to stop taking it and go back to topical treatments like .Enstilar. 8 don’t particularly want to end up bald.

Has anyone experienced gum problems taking acitretin Mine are bleeding and receding and my dentist is at a loss to explain the change

I have been using it for two weeks now and started feeling my lips extremely dry , otherwise no other effects are seen till date . Anyone know what to do for these lips ? It is annoying

Hi. I’ve been on Acitretin for a while and have a dry mouth and lips. I use a Boots own lip salve and keep it with me so I can use it when needed. This came at a similar time to having a dry mouth so I also have a saliva spray on prescription which helps.

Hi I had all of these problems people are mentioning my nails were crap and would just snap in half my hair went curly and I have bits sticking out all over the show. I was also bone dry like I sneezed at work in the toilet and when I looked on the floor it was everywhere I was trying to wipe up my dry skin. I am off it now on to otezla. Dry lips were tough during the winter and a really dry inside of my left nostril. Not great that stuff

Hi, has anyone had eye lash fallout? I’m no well endowed anyway, I seem to have very few lower lashes. Mouth and lips also dry. Inside my mouth the top palette is swollen. Am convinced the area around my mouth has become (more) wrinkled. Hair started to fall out as well. Changed dermo, she advised immediately to stop taking Acitretin ‘too strong.’ Now I’m on some pretty good cream and my skin in healing. I just hope the area around my mouth will become more hydrated soon. Would love some feedback. Thanks

Just started this aswell dry mouth and skin peeling off both feet and painful ten days today all over rash doenst seem to be improving but was told could get worse before better … getting me down had four days in hospital already and two weeks off work due to go on holiday in a weeks time so hoping. Some sun will help with factor 50 Worries about drinking whilst on holidays don’t drink much Good to read other people’s experiences

I started Acetretin in January. It caused swelling and redness to my face, hair loss and dry lips. I stopped it recently as my hair was coming out in clumps and I couldn't tolerate the higher dose so wasn't having much impact although my P has got loads worse since stopping. I checked with consultant about alcohol and she checked blood tests for me and advised to stay within safe limits but no reason I couldn't have some alcohol. I have completed my family though and alcohol can cause the drug to be in your body for longer.

I have been on Acitretin for a month now and the skin has come off my hands and feet making it very sore to walk.I have also dry lips and itching all over.When will i feel any improvement as my Psoriasis is still as bad as ever ?
