Guttate psoriasis, flared up on 28/04/16

Hi Mydadpeter, In regards to your 8yo daughter, it sounds as though she has come out with guttate psoriasis as this is triggered by strep throat (throat infection) or tonsillitis.

A lucky chap having lived a long happy life doing many countryside persuits.

Hi, a 73 yr old male and just posted my entirely new sad introduction to this ailment. I was given 3 multi-page leaflets by my Consultant t he very first visit. Go to www.NHS and enter psoriasis and look for them available there. If I were to meet someone in your situation I would advise learn as much as you can about the condition but make sure your diagnosis and the advise are compatible as not every paragraph will apply to you. Knowledge is power! Power to take charge of your condition. By this I mean see a Consultant as soon as you gain that knowledge in order to ask the right questions/ Take the advise offered even by professionals as just that, an opinion. Double check as much as possible, talk to the clinical Nurse who may have more t.me? Unlike you maybe I am bold and self confident. No one has asked me about it yet but were they to I would explain it is an hereditary condition that can go on for a lifetime dormant or conversely triggered by a virus, infection or even stress, is not infectious just unpleasant to live with. An animal behaviour specialist taught me an unforgettable lesson with a problem dog I own. When he misbehaved approaching others, say something like "He's a harmless dog in training and (the important bit) WALK SMARTLY BY! Now a lady's looks are far more of an issue than many mens bu remember even disabled people can be in happy relationships IF THEY DO NOT HIDE AWAY. Good luck though Regards petelab

Hey, I'm Angie, psoriasis sufferer since I was 11 years old. Looking for support so I'm not alone in this disease.

Sorry Sanjeet but there is no such thing as a permanent cure. If this was the case it would have been easier to be discovered and would have been circulated to all by now. I've been a P sufferer for nearly 30 years and have seen many many doctors and alternative practitioners and sometimes when a 'cure' is proclaimed, it turns out to be rubbish/someone trying to get your money. Maybe you're in remission at the moment and I wish you all the best to continue with this but please be very careful and thoughtful about posting on websites exclaiming a 'cure'.

My daughter suffers from psoriasis on her arms and legs. I've tried many different ointments, creams, oils etc. But nothing was very effective. Psoriasis serum of Dermalmd is awesome. I noticed a difference with the first use. I apply it about 4-5 times a day and there has been a great improvement in her skin. It's not completely gone but I've only been using it for 3days now. Totally recommend dermalmd to psoriasis/eczema sufferers.

Hello Emily I know it is hard. It is hard for practically every psoriasis sufferer on the planet, but definitely worse when you are a teenager. Or at least I think so from my own past experiences. And I say that, because teenage years are meant to be for experimenting, girlfriends / boyfriends / discovering sex / having no worries or concerns, having fun, discos, nightclubs, lots of freedom, holidays, etc…. All of which is stunted somewhat, when you have self-confidence issues because of what your skin looks or feels like. I am in my early 50s and have had psoriasis since birth. It has waxed and waned over the years, but it was at its very worst in my teens and early 20s I was also quite shy back then, which also made things worse in regards of how to deal with comments from other people. I wish I had my 50s personality in my teens, and my life then would have been so much better. But as they say, you live and learn For summer, I can only suggest wearing something very pretty, long, and floaty. It will cover your skin, keep you cool (silk, cotton, or cheesecloth), and may even start a new trend! No need to wear a shapeless tent, loads of fashion forward clothes you can wear that will cover your skin, but leave you feeling attractive and confident. Something like a maxi dress and shawl, or colourful kaftans, or some wide culottes with a boho blouse. I know teenagers want to fit into the crowd and look the same as everyone else (all wear shorts in summer) ......but if you have psoriasis on your legs, then this is a moot point. On a positive side, this is a great opportunity for you to stop being a sheep that follows, and shape you into / grow into, a confident and independent individual. Once you learn to march to the beat of your own drum – it sets you free. I have walked this path before you and speak from knowledge and experience Keep your chin up and good luck
