PA Pain

Hi, I'm new to this site, just happened to find it on my suggested pages on Facebook. I've had psoriasis since I turned 18 and it took a further 5 years after that to be diagnosed with PA. My Gp originally thought it was in my head but on changing Gp's and being referred to rheumatology I finally got treated seriously. I was wondering if anyone experiences the same as me and can offer any advice. I've also been diagnosed with IBS (this is the only thing they can come up with after countless MRI's and Colonoscopies) I have severe diarrhoea and its been getting worse, when I had my colonoscopy they said I was riddled internally with lesions and thinks its psoriasis but don't have anything else. Traditional IBS therapies do not make any difference I've tried them all and its now come the stage where I have to plan all my journeys via public toilet access and carry around a change of clothes for accidents. When I had my daughter 16 years ago, I used to use her as an excuse when going out to use shop toilets, but obviously can't do that anymore and I think I've also given her a complex about eating and going out because of it as I used to starve myself if I knew I was going out - I didn't want to have an accident :( I'm 40 years old and have come to the end of my tether with this and don't feel I can carry on anymore, specialists have discharged me as I don't have crowns, colitis etc and my Gp just keeps prescribing me tablets for IBS. Now taking buscopan and its not done a thing. Ive even tried changing my diet by cutting out wheat, I very rarely have dairy and when I do it is the occasional cheese or yoghurt, it has not had any effect although now if I do have anything wheat based I tend to have a need to rush to the toilet not long afterwards but think thats because I've cut it out and my body is used to not eating it. I've been told there are two types of PA, joint degenerative and pain based. I've been told I have pain based, at present I've been taking Naproxen and co-codamol but its not working, my hands, knees, lower back, knees and feet are the most painful, they swell, are very stiff and completing day to day activities are time consuming. Is there anyone out there that has anything similar? What have you taken to help you? I'm getting desperate and the medical world doesn't seem to be helping me at all. Sorry for long post, thank you for taking the time to read it all

I have Psoriasis and I think psa ,I’m 65now and think have had it about 5 yrs.

I dont have any advice, but can connect with your symptoms which I havn't put together before in my situation. I have scalp psoriasis and IBS though not actually been given that label, I was advised t go wheat and dairy free also. I have swollen middle finger and pain in wrists and ankles, especially early a.m. etc See my comment on Forum before. Am waiting for Rheumatology appt for diagnosis.

Hi If you still need help? I've suffered with pa for 27 yrs mine is mainly joint damage in both knees, elbows, feet, hands, neck, hips and lower back, but still get pain. I have tried many treatments. Im currently on a anti tnf treatment called enbrel which is helping to calm things down and helps with the psoriasis also. If you would like advice then im here :) Karl.
