2026 Conference Spotlight #5 – Treatment Updates

It's the month of our annual conference! Our final Spotlight is all about the latest treatment updates – one of the most personal elements of managing your psoriasis.

This years’ conference, taking place in Manchester on Saturday, 20 June, still has spaces available and is open to all - whether you are living with psoriasis, are a healthcare professional, academic or have an interest in dermatology and psoriatic conditions.

On the day, we’ll be covering everything you need to know about current treatments as well as cutting edge research into future options. You’ll hear from:

Dr Hamish Hunter

With a passion for dermatology and a drive for research, Dr Hamish Hunter has made invaluable contributions to the understanding of psoriasis and its associated comorbidities. He is currently a Consultant Dermatologist at the Salford Care Organisation and Clinical Director of Dermatology and Chair of the Greater Manchester Dermatology Clinical Network.

Dr Hunter’s current research is aimed towards the evaluation of novel therapeutics for the treatment of psoriasis and eczema. His talk at this years’ conference, ‘Psoriasis Treatments: How far we have come’, promises to be an optimistic look at the steps we have taken so far in treating psoriasis and the exciting developments on the horizon.

Dr Yiqiao Chen (PhD student)

Dr Yiqiao Chen is our final student who will be speaking at this years’ conference, having recently completed her PhD in Immunology at the University of Manchester.

She will be presenting her research, which was funded by the Psoriasis Association and focused on immune mechanisms in psoriasis, particularly mast cell–CD8⁺ T cell interactions.

DISCOVERY LOUNGE HIGHLIGHT: BADBIR

We are delighted to announce that BADBIR will be featured for our first year of ‘The Discovery Lounge!’ BADBIR is an observational, prospective study open to patients undergoing treatment for psoriasis with either a biologic drug or standard anti-psoriatic therapy. Over 14,000 participants are currently taking part, helping the BADBIR team to reach better-informed conclusions on the long-term safety of biologic treatments and improve patient care.

‘The Discovery Lounge’ is an interactive new addition to our annual conference, providing a space to for attendees to meet experts, chat informally and discover the new ideas shaping the future of psoriasis care.
