Anybody here gone on the "fat jabs" for weightloss, and subsequently seen a partial or full clearance of psoriasis?
Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy, etc.
Alternatively, has anybody seen a "rebound" effect from them, which made their psoriasis spread?
Better, same, or worse?
Yes I started about 3 months ago on Mounjaro.
After about 8 weeks I noticed my skin psoriasis had completely gone (which I have had for the last 40 years!).
Not only that but a single nail which had psoriasis and had been completely messed up for the last 10 years or so has started growing back normally.

Thank you.
May I ask -- was the psoriasis mild, moderate, or severe?
Did the psoriasis disappear gradually, or overnight?
Hi, I am on my 1st week on monjauro and seen a slight improvement on my hands but my legs are still very very sore. Although the swelling in my legs has improved a lot. I am keeping my fingers, toes and everything else crossed. Also losing a couple of stones will be a big positive.🤞

Thanks, Loulou22.
Interesting post.
Please do post back and keep us updated.
I have been on Mounjaro for three weeks. And have seen a huge improvement in my psoriasis! :)
How are the rest of you getting on? Anyone seen further improvements?
After 6 weeks I am 90% clear of psoriosis while using Mounjaro.

Thanks. Very impressive. Please keep us updated on progress, if possible.
So far, there are 3-4 people on here who appear to have achieved near-total psoriasis clearance on the "fat jab" in just 1-3 months.
The signs, thus far, short-term, look promising.
Is it a miracle cure?!
Pure speculation, of course, but any psoriasis clearance could be down to weightloss, or less obesity, or lower blood sugar, or some kind of hormone interaction (e.g. GLP-1).
Any other folks with psoriasis loss (or gain) while on Mounjaro, Ozempic, Wegovy or others?
Interesting research on how GLP-1 injections (like Mounjaro) tamp down inflammation, and may help clear psoriasis.
Less bodyfat = less inflammation = less psoriasis.

Surprised more folks are not commenting on this thread! The fat jabs (so far) show huge promise for psoriasis.

Interesting new report on how GLP-1 injections -- such as terzepatide -- might clear psoriasis, particularly in obese people, by reducing the amount of glucose (sugar) produced by the liver.
It's well known that excess sugar causes inflammation and aggravates psoriasis (makes it worse). GLP-1 might tamp down that inflammation, and make things better.

Would be interested to know how everyone is getting on? Everyone still on the jabs? Continued to see improvement with their psoriasis?

This is very interesting. I know someone who took mounjaro for a few months and her psoriasis completely cleared. She is no longer taking it and it hasn’t come back. I am currently on methotrexate injections and have been on it for 2 years plus. My psoriasis hasn’t cleared (although it isn’t as bad as it used to be). But, I am considering trying Mounjaro to see whether it will help with my psoriasis. If I can take something (if it proves to be effective) short term, rather than take long term immunosuppressants, it seems like it would be better. For those of you taking it, did you have difficulty getting it prescribed? Did you go through your GP or through your rheumatologist? Are you experiencing any side affects? Are you meant to be on it long term or can you stop it?

StarW -- Looks like you started Mounjaro back in Mar 2025. It's now Jul 2025, four months on. May we ask, how is the psoriasis?

12 weeks into Mounjaro and I have a striking improvement. Scabs are going leaving smooth red patches.
Scalp and toenails taking longer to heal.
I don’t think it’s the placebo effect because I didn’t know this was a possible side effect.
I used to belong to this organisation in the 1990s hoping I’d find something that would cure psoriasis. But had pretty much given up on anything working.
If this drug can also;
Lower my blood pressure ,
Rid me of sleep apnoea ,
Stop my occasional heart arrhythmia
then it’s the miracle drug of all time.
I’ve been on mounjaro for 3 months. My psoriasis has massively improved. It was red and itchy and used to bleed a lot.
My elbows are just white and flakey now, so much better. My scalp psoriasis is also a lot better.
My nails are so much better. I can literally see where i started taking it. There’s no putting, and they seem to be growing back like normal nails- something I haven’t had in 35 years.
