Hi, glad it worked for a bit. I know biologics are great, but for me, I am really worried about them, which is why I went straight to Otezla. My wife works in a pharmacy and gets every illness going, and almost all of them are immunosuppressants. And I don't want to be ill all the time. But really hope they work for u.

Testimony – Possible Neurological Adverse Effect Related to Otezla (apremilast)
With this account, I wish to contribute to the awareness of patients and healthcare professionals regarding possible adverse effects of Otezla (apremilast), which, based on my experience, are not widely documented in the literature.
Approximately three weeks after starting treatment, I began to experience a burning sensation in the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet. Initially, I assumed it was something temporary and continued the medication. However, over time the symptoms progressively worsened, accompanied by numbness and tingling in the extremities.
Following my dermatologist’s advice, I temporarily reduced the dosage by half. Despite this adjustment, no improvement was observed, and as the symptoms became more intense, I decided, in consultation with my physician, to discontinue the treatment.
These neurological symptoms were not only physically uncomfortable but also had a significant psychological impact, affecting my daily life. I consulted neurologists, who diagnosed polyneuropathic symptoms. To rule out other possible causes, I underwent hematological, neurological, and imaging (CT) examinations, all of which came back normal.
Although neurological adverse effects are not reported in clinical studies or official safety data for apremilast, my physician considered a causal relationship with the medication highly probable.
Recovery was gradual. About two months after discontinuation, the symptoms began to subside, and a few months later they had completely resolved.
Based on this experience and the medical advice I received, I believe it is important that any patient who develops neurological symptoms (such as burning sensations, numbness, or tingling) while on Otezla should contact their physician immediately. Prompt discontinuation or adjustment of the therapy may prevent the condition from becoming permanent and allow for complete recovery.
