Scalp Psoriasis- 12 yr old daughter

My 12 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with psoriasis and her scalp is by far the worst part for her. Her hair is also long and thick which makes it very hard to tackle with the Sebco ointment that she has been given. She has just started high school and is struggling a lot with the level of flakiness that appear on her school uniform and her constant urge to scratch. Any advice to help would be greatly appreciated - brushes, shampoos, ointments - anything at all - I have found the Internet to be a minefield of contradictions and Im at my wits end.

@bazza I first had psoriasis as a student in 1980. It was all over my body including my scalp. I always had good results with coal-tar based products, but many have been reformulated or withdrawn. Yellow Selsun used to work brilliantly but has again had the formulation changed and is n0 longer effective for me. I could not get on with Sebco/Cocois. Polytar shampoo is still available and worth trying. Five years ago I had an outbreak of guttte psoriasis. My scalp became massively flakey and itching. A frient of mine who was a medical student in Ukraine, found this shampoo, recommended by her pharmacist: Alphacade Shampoo PSO . It is gentle on the hair, smells pleasant and immediately suppressed the itching. I found it online for an affordable price at : https://www.cocooncenter.co.uk/item-dermatologie-alphacade-shampoo-pso-severe-cases-of-dandruff-200ml/14313.html It is actually described as for "serious dandruff" - but helped my scalp and proriasis greatly, and stopped the itching which had been stopping me from sleeping. It also seemed gentle on my hair itself, it did not seem to dry out the hair, and seemed suitable for daily use or every couple of days.
