I’ve been having problems with joint pain for the past 3 to 4 years, but now it’s really escalated to multiple joints.
I have an underactive thyroid and pernicious anaemia.
I’ve had what I thought was severe plantar fasciitis for at least 18 months and elbow tendinitis for about 12 months. I had an x-ray on my foot which confirmed a heel spur and enthesopathy.
I’ve also had terrible problems with my right knee, an x-ray said I had early degenerative changes but when I had an MRI, the meniscus cartilage was shredded and the surgeon said the MCL was very inflamed. I had an arthroscopy which sorted the meniscus problem and he also injected the MCL (ligament) with a steroid as he said it was red raw.
Unfortunate I’m still suffering with knee pain.
I’ve now developed painful toes and ankles which started on right foot but has now gone to both and the same with my hands which started with one finger and now all of the fingers hurt on both hands and both wrists, but worse on the right side.
I don’t think I had psoriasis in the past but now thinking about it I had a very itchy ear which would go a bit crusty and also my elbows have been very dry and rough plus my toenails have now thickened and one of the big toenails is starting to lift.
I’ve been reading a lot about arthritis lately and think I may have psoriatic arthritis as I seem to tick a lot of the boxes, I’ve managed to get a referral to rheumatology but not sure how long the way it is.
My body seems to be falling apart. I’ve also developed high blood pressure and my cholesterol is going up even though I have a good diet and I’m relatively fit.
