Breaking down barriers on holiday.

Currently on holiday abroad with the family and I’ve had horrible and quite large patches of psoriasis on my lower legs and feet, as well as my elbows. Fortunately my back and front aren’t too bad. I was dreading coming on holiday and packed light trousers and the longest shorts I could find! But on the first day my youngest wanted to go in the pool, which meant swim-shorts!!! Plucked up the courage, put them on and in the pool we went. Fast forward to day 3, all I wear is shorts and sliders. No one’s looked that I’ve noticed, no one cares and my mindset has simply been that I won’t ever see them again! It’s honestly been such a freeing and amazing experience. Still get nervous, still self conscious at times, but most of the time I just forget it’s there and get on with my day. I’ve been moisturising every night and will go back to tropicals and try and get light treatment when I’m back. But honestly, the sun, water and relaxing have definitely made a difference. It’s smooth, went pink instead of burning red with scales. Might need to move abroad 🤣🤣 anyway, just posting to give anyone else in the same boat some confidence that it’s ok to be you and get on with life!
