2026 Conference Spotlight #3 – People-focussed care
With so many opinions available about psoriasis, our third Conference Spotlight looks at the importance of people-focussed care, and how you can learn all about it at this years’ event in Manchester.
Our 2026 Annual Conference, taking place on Saturday, 20 June, is open to all - whether you are living with psoriasis, are a healthcare professional, academic or have an interest in dermatology and psoriatic conditions.
Here’s who you’ll be hearing from on the day about the lived experiences of people with psoriasis:
Zoe Ryan
We’re delighted to be hearing from Zoe Ryan, a leading personality on psoriasis in Ireland and founder of psoriasis awareness platform ‘Itching To Tell You’. Zoe has lived with psoriasis since she was 18, and has backed up her lived experience with Certificates in Skin Theory, Advanced Skin Knowledge and studies in Skin & Hair Science at University City Dublin School of Medicine.
You may have heard Zoe on local and national radio, seen her delivering an awareness talk, or read her work in a host of national and international publications, most notably Healthline Media.
On the day, Zoe will be sharing her thoughts and research findings onwhy we treat psoriasis. She will also lead one of two expert Q&A sessions – the other will be moderated by Dr Julia Schofield, our Chair of Association.
Heber Bright (PhD student)
Heber Bright is another of our supported PhD students joining us in Manchester this year, having recently completed his research in Pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Manchester. He remains actively involved in patient-focused research and drug safety.
Heber’s presentation on the safety of different biologic treatments will be hugely beneficial, supporting people with psoriasis as well as clinicians to make informed treatment decisions.
DISCOVERY LOUNGE HIGHLIGHT: St John’s DermAcademy
In keeping with this week’s theme of people-focussed care, we are delighted to confirm that St John’s DermAcademy will be joining us in The Discovery Lounge at our 2026 conference.
As an internationally-recognised centre of excellence, St John’s DermAcademy aims to provide the highest quality, clinically-focused and evidence-based education in dermatology, which will ultimately improve the care they provide to people with skin conditions.
‘The Discovery Lounge’ is an interactive new addition to our annual conference, providing a space to for attendees to meet experts, chat informally and discover the new ideas shaping the future of psoriasis care.
