Tonsillitis

Hi everyone, I’m just wondering if anyone here developed psoriasis after tonsillitis and, if so, whether you’ve had any success with remission after having a tonsillectomy. My psoriasis first started back in 2012 following tonsillitis. It began as guttate psoriasis but eventually developed into plaque psoriasis. Since then, I’ve tried changing my diet, reducing stress, UVB phototherapy, and steroid creams, but nothing has given me lasting results. The only time I’ve had any real improvement was with UVB, but unfortunately it always came back. I’ve read a few stories from people whose psoriasis cleared after having their tonsils removed, and I’ve also come across studies from different countries suggesting that tonsillectomy has helped some people with psoriasis, particularly when it seems to have been triggered by recurrent throat infections. I’ve recently been prescribed methotrexate, but I’m feeling quite anxious about starting it, especially as I can’t help wondering whether my tonsils are still playing a role in my psoriasis. Interestingly, over the past week I’ve had another bout of tonsillitis, and despite feeling unwell, I’ve noticed that my psoriasis has actually started to clear, which seems really strange. Has anyone experienced anything similar? If you had a tonsillectomy, did it make any difference to your psoriasis in the long term? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, whether it helped or not. Thanks in advance!
