Watch all of the presentations from our first ever online Annual Conference.

As a result of the ongoing restrictions due to COVID-19, we hosted our 2021 Annual Conference online in June. Despite this, we were delighted still to be able to bring you presentations of the highest standard from Professor Catherine Smith, Ms Ella Guest, Dr Zenas Yiu, Dr Erin O'Shaughnessy, and Professor Chris Bundy.

Video 1 - COVID-19, psoriasis and future research opportunities - Professor Catherine Smith

Consultant Dermatologist, Professor Catherine Smith, explains what we have learned about COVID-19 in relation to psoriasis from the PsoProtect and PsoProtectMe registries, as well as the lessons clinicians can take from the pandemic to improve care for people with psoriasis in the future.

Ms Ella Guest from the Centre for Appearance Research, University of the West of England, presents the results from her Psoriasis Association funded research project 'The impact of flare-ups on psychological wellbeing, treatment adherence and life engagement in people with psoriasis'.


Video 3 - Evaluation of TNF Inhibitor Biosimilar Use in the UK: a study from BADBIR - Dr Zenas Yiu

Dr Zenas Yiu, of the University of Manchester, presents plans for his research which will use data from the British Association of Dermatologists Biologics and Immunomodulators Register (BADBIR) to describe the current use of biosimilars for psoriasis in the UK and generate evidence to compare effectiveness and safety to their originator biologics.


Video 4 - The role of Connexin Mediated Signalling in the pathogenesis of psoriasis - Dr Erin O’Shaughnessy

Dr Erin O'Shaughnessy, of Glasgow Caledonian University, outlines the results of her PhD research which investigated the role of Connexins in the development and progression of psoriasis, and identified a potential new treatment target.


Video 5 - Living well with psoriasis - Professor Chris Bundy

Professor Chris Bundy, Professor of Health Psychology/Behavioural Medicine at Cardiff University, presents the PsoWell (psoriasis and wellbeing) training course to equip people living with psoriasis with techniques to help them live well and promote positive behaviour change.
