2026 Conference Spotlight #4 – Research and Upcoming Priorities

We are dedicated to research that improves the daily lives of people with psoriasis – and our fourth Conference Spotlight outlines how this passion is at the heart of our 2026 event.

This years’ conference, taking place in Manchester on Saturday, 20 June, still has spaces available and is open to all - whether you are living with psoriasis, are a healthcare professional, academic or have an interest in dermatology and psoriatic conditions.

On the day, we’ll be covering the latest progress made in innovative research, and setting priorities for the coming years. You’ll hear from:

Dr Helen Young

Dr Helen Young will be delivering two presentations – one on her work leading the Psoriasis Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) and the other on her MOVE SMART study.

Based in Manchester, where this years’ event is being held, Dr Young is Senior Lecturer in Dermatology at The University of Manchester, Honorary Consultant Dermatologist at Salford Royal Hospital, Manchester and serves as one of the leads for the Manchester Psoriasis Clinic.

Dr Young’s wealth of experience will provide a unique insight into the latest updates in psoriasis treatment and care, and we can’t wait to hear about her current projects and priorities.

Professor Darren Ashcroft

Professor Darren Ashcroft, another guest based in Manchester, is an appointed councillor for the International Psoriasis Council (IPC), a Senior Investigator at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and holds the Foundation Chair in Pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Manchester.

He will be presenting new research into the epidemiology of psoriasis – essentially, who is affected by psoriasis, and how. This exciting project, which was proudly funded by the Association, aims to improve our knowledge on the epidemiology of psoriasis in the UK, particularly how this may vary between people from different ethnic groups.

Since 2017, Professor Ashcroft has also been Director of Research at The Global Psoriasis Atlas (GPA) – who will be joining us in The Discovery Lounge…

DISCOVERY LOUNGE HIGHLIGHT: The Global Psoriasis Atlas (GPA)

The Global Psoriasis Atlas (GPA), will be based at ‘The Discovery Lounge’ – an interactive new addition to our annual conference.

As a long-term project driving continuous improvement in the understanding of psoriasis, The GPA aims to provide detailed, open-access information about the worldwide epidemiology of psoriasis and uncover how it affects both the individual and society at large.

‘The Discovery Lounge’ will provide a space to for attendees to meet experts, chat informally and discover the new ideas shaping the future of psoriasis care.
