The British Dermatological Nursing Group (BDNG) Conference 2025
This year, we attended The British Dermatological Nursing Group (BDNG) annual conference, in Harrogate, between 130th September – 2nd October. We headed up to scenic Harrogate, with our new leaflets and information sheets in tow, ready for a busy and productive three days.
The BDNG is a professional organisation for nurses and other healthcare professionals who are interested in dermatology. Their annual conference features a variety of different activities. Across the three days attendees were able to join educational sessions, visit exhibitions and view poster displays, (which focussed primarily on research projects). Nurses, student nurses and other HCPs new to dermatology were also able to attend “Derm School”. We attended some of the lectures and found the talks extremely insightful, with lots of key takeaways, including how to spot signs of psoriatic arthritis early to help diagnose it and treat it at the right time.
We held a stand within the Patient Support Group (PSG) hub at the conference, which took place at the Harrogate Convention centre. Being alongside other PSGs allowed us to engage in discussions about common issues and the latest advances in the charity sector for conditions which affect the skin.

We had lots of people come over to the stand across the 3 days and were very interested and excited to see our new leaflets displaying real life images of psoriasis. In particular, our scalp psoriasis leaflet was very popular with nurses sharing that this is one of the most common types of psoriasis they see on their patients. It was really interesting to have conversations with healthcare professionals about what they are seeing in clinic and also share what we also hear from people living with psoriasis on our helpline, social media and forums.
We were able to inform nurses and visitors to our stand about current opportunities at the Psoriasis Association, such as our upcoming plans for Awareness Week.
It's great to attend such a informative event and come away feeling like we have learnt more that we can share with the psoriasis community.
