Hello everyone. I'm desperate for Dithranol 0.1% I have seen its discontinued over the counter/online but I read on this site its available for pharmacist to special order via prescription. I asked my GP for it and he passed it to my surgery pharmacy team who have texted me to tell me its no longer available for routine prescribing and to make an appointment with my GP. Does anyone know if that means I can't have it or that I have to see my GP first. Please help me, I'm desperate to get hold of this cream as it works and my job is potentially on the line!
It is discontinued but apparently available for special order

That page makes out it's specifically made by the pharmacist - so it looks like you have to find a pharmacy that's actually prepared to make it for you? So perhaps not every pharmacy is capable of or has the relevant supplies to make it for you?

Hi,
Any pharmacy should be able to provide this should the GP or dermatologist request it. We advise to check with the pharmacy before requesting the prescription.
Thank you,

You can buy it on ebay. It's called Derobin cream. It has 1.1% dithranol 2%salicylic acid and 5% coal tar AND it works better than anything I've tried!!

I used Dithranol 30 years ago. It was very bad to the body and ruined all my shirts. I was ill all the time. You should look for uvb photothreapy. There are new UVB lamps.
Like Steroids, methotrexate, cyclosporine and biologics also Dithranol weaken the immune system and can damage the liver, kidneys, blood pressure.
It was proved that people using these treatments are more prone to illness and additional medical complications.
New UVB LED lamps do not weaken the immune system.
