Hello everyone, My name is Tori. I am due to start Adalimumab for my psoriasis. I would like to hear if anyone is currently on, what you’re experiencing. Look forward to hearing back. Tori

Hi Tori! I started adalimumab about a year ago as a final step treatment (meaning there are no higher treatments after this except other biologics). I have had a really positive experience with minimal side effects and almost full clearance (<5% coverage left) a few small patches and quite a few small dots of psoriasis but no general discomfort or pain caused by the psoriasis. In terms of the treatment itself I use the injection pen and you can use it in your stomach or thigh but I was taught to do it in the thigh so that’s where I inject it. Advice: take it out of the fridge at least 10 hours before you inject - it’s quite stinging if you don’t. And try to relax your muscles when you inject it - it will hurt a bit if you’re tensed up. Make sure to order in advance of your last 2 pens running out and also think practically in terms of travel. The pens I use actually can be out of the fridge for up to 30 days so there is no need to refrigerate when travelling but they can’t then go back in to the fridge. Also remember to alternate which leg / side you inject into each time! Some people say it’s helpful to stretch the skin - I don’t and don’t find it helpful. Hope this helps! Best of luck xx

I started on Idacio (Adalimumab) in April 2024. It cleared me up pretty much 100% although in the last few months some small sports have been appearing here and there but heavy on my scalp, luckily I have a good head of hair so it’s not visible for now but as it get worse flakes will be noticeable. Adalimumab has worked wonders for the last two years, ultimately it does wear off over time but I’ve had a good run. In my next appointment I’ll be keen to discuss moving on to stelara or similar.
