'Right Treatment: Right Time' Key Speaker Announcement 2025

It’s not long until our 'Right Treatment: Right Time' conference which is taking place on Saturday 28th June at the County Hall in London, Belvedere Road (SE1 7PB) between 10am - 4pm.

We're excited to share the last three guests in our speaker series, Professor Jonathan Barker, Karina Jackson and Luc Francis and sharing more about what they do and what to expect from their talks.

For the first time, this years’ conference has received CPD certification, meaning CPD points are available for attendees and certificates are available following the event.

Professor Jonathan Barker

Talk title: Expert panel discussion/Q&A/feedback on research ideas

Jonathan Barker is Professor of Medical Dermatology at King's College London and consultant at St John's Institute of Dermatology at Guy's and St Thomas's Hospitals where he set up the severe psoriasis service in mid 1990s.

He was a member of Psoriasis Association’s grants advisory committee for many years and more recently was honoured to receive from them an honorary life vice presidency.

He is a recent past president of the International Psoriasis Council. He has published over 400 peer reviewed papers, chapters and books, most relating to psoriasis.

Karina Jackson

Talk title: My research journey: what it's like to be involved in studies

Karina Jackson has over 30 years clinical experience in dermatology nursing in a range of clinical, research and educational roles, and has been a consultant nurse at St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust since 2006.

Her previous clinical work was in tertiary medical dermatology, helping to establish and deliver multidisciplinary services, leading and developing a team of clinical nurse specialists.

She is a strong advocate for holistic services for people with skin disease and led the successful recruitment of clinical psychologists into local dermatology services.

She has a passion for patient and public health education and has led the development of various initiatives to increase access to digital information. She also leads a portfolio of courses within the DermAcademy, including the Clinical Dermatology Care Course for nurses and has a visiting lectureship at KCL University. Luc Francis

Talk title: Looking at markers of remission in psoriasis (hot research topic 2)

Luc Francis is a Computational Biologist who recently completed a PhD at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology, King’s College London, funded by the Psoriasis Association.

His research focused on understanding the changes in psoriasis skin in the early stages of treatment and exploring the possible reasons for recurrence once treatment has stopped.
