Alicia shares her experience of growing up with psoriasis. From her initial symptoms, to the treatments she has tried, and regaining her confidence.

My name is Alicia Mattock. I am twenty two years of ages and would like to share my psoriasis story with everyone. At the age of seven I was diagnosed with a skin condition called psoriasis which developed all over my body and in my scalp. When I used to struggle with my psoriasis, I wasn’t able to wear certain clothes or have certain duvet covers on me as it would make me itch and would be very painful.

As the years went on, I have used a variety of creams, lotions, moisturisers and prescription medication to control my skin. I used to feel very self-conscious about what clothing I wore as people used to point and stare at my psoriasis when I was younger. Over time I have learnt how to control and build confidence in myself.
