I have suffered with psoriasis since I was a young child, mainly plaque psoriasis, but as I got older, it turned into guattate psoriasis,

I get it in my scalp and it used to be mainly on my arms and a little on my legs, but with a recent flare, it has been pretty much everywhere.

I have tried many creams and medications and also light treatment. Unfortunately, the light treatment didn’t work for me, as I am pretty fair and I kept getting blisters.

I was on cyclosporine for a long time, then switched to methotrexate. A lot of this medication was making me feel sick so I switched to methotrexate injections.

After having strep A at Christmas time, my skin flared really bad and I couldn’t get it under control, so after having an appointment with the dermatologist I was advised to go onto biologics injections (IMRALDI). Unfortunately, I had to wait a couple of weeks and during this time, my skin was the worst it had ever been. At this point I also got strep A for the second time!

Now on the injections, I do feel like they’re making a difference, however it’s been a massive knock in my confidence and affected my daily life. I am lucky I have a great support network around me and my wife and daughter help me through the tough days.

I was struggling with work as a swimming teacher, struggling with my mood, so I have even switched jobs to help my skin (still a swimming teacher but not in the water chlorine was hurting to much).

This page really helps and makes you realise you're not suffering alone.
